Things I am Closely Monitoring
My parents are cleaning out closets with a ferocity that would dwarf Peter Dinklage. Mostly that means they are easily distracted by items someone socked away sixty years ago.
I am closely monitoring their endeavors.
My mom had pretty good handwriting for a ten year old. She lacked in the politeness category, however. |
The infamous "Nubian Princesses." I have known these statues existed my whole life but have never actually seen them before. Their provenance is a complete mystery. |
I am closely monitoring the composting, or lack thereof, of these allegedly "compostable scouring pads." Check out the evidence I dug up below. I buried them outside months ago. I will continue to shovel these up periodically to assess, but I have my strong doubts.
Probably not actually compostable "Walnut Shell" scouring pads I buried months ago. |
I am actively contemplating a situation that emerged when I purchased two luggage racks on Amazon made and shipped by a Chinese outfit. The racks arrived exactly as advertised, along with a bonus -- a pair of ladies slippers and a pair of men's slippers. Both were just stuck in the box with the luggage racks.
The ladies slippers are strappy with sparkles. The mens are very heavy duty. Like you'd wear them in a wood cabin upstate on Christmas morning. No note or explanation accompanied the slipper gifting. I just opened the box, and out fell one, two, three ... four loose slippers.
I'm not exactly sure what to make of this.
Our luggage racks came with slippers. |
I am monitoring a curbside tree branch on our block. The tree branch started out on the other side of the block, near 7th Avenue. I noticed it last Thursday. I guess someone down there trimmed one of the trees on the sidewalk.
The tree branch was in the middle of the block when we came home late Saturday night.
This morning, it was very near our place close to 8th Avenue.
I will continue to monitor.

I am totally fixated on the amount of dust that our air cleaner collects on the filter. This is truly horrifying. Where does all this dust come from? I need to find a clipboard and some sort of analytical equipment with knobs and dials and LED lights. I want readings and I want to write them down so I can make longitudinal charts and graphs.
Red alert! Our Air Cleaner filter. |
