I stayed at the Watergate Hotel! NaBloPoMo Day 7
All the toiletries are branded "Watergate" at the Watergate Hotel! |
Good for them, they are marketing the shit out of 1972 and I can tell you that with evidence -- you should see how many emails with "Watergate" in the subject line I got from them since checking out of the Watergate Hotel last week.
My feeling of being in the midst of a bugging situation continued though after band night the other day when Kelly showed us a hair dryer curler thing her mom bought her from Temu:
An innocent hair dryer curler thing |
except here's the side of the box:
ummm, there's an FCC warning? |
"(1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and,
(2) This device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation."
What? Was is this, am I back at the Watergate Hotel? The hair dryer curler thing isn't even branded "Watergate" in any way!!
Anyway, the Watergate Hotel complex is f*ing gigantic.
Apparently you can visit the actual room where the Watergate bugging incident took place, but it was in a different building than we were in and yeah. I was on a work trip and actually working. So.
